THERE was even more jollity than usual at Teesdale's Craft Works group on Tuesday as the members helped their president, Mary Lowes, celebrate her 81st birthday in style with singing, coffee and tasty home-baked cakes.
Miss Lowes, the former headteacher of Forest School and still a champion of the historic Newbiggin Chapel, was applauded as she walked in and again as she blew out her single candle. Several participants stood to pay her moving tributes.See the full content of this document
