Road Safety Scheme Proves a Huge Success

Summary


A CAMPAIGN to cut the number of deaths and injuries on North Yorkshire's roads has proved a major success with casualties at a 20- year low.

The number of people killed or seriously injured was reduced by a quarter last year - 43 people died and 493 were seriously injured, while in 2007 the figures were 77 and 640 respectively.
