A POLICE team who endured some of the grimmest conditions imaginable to unravel a murder mystery have been honoured by their chief constable.

The team of four forensics and crime scene investigators spent almost 300 hours examining a house that police initially feared had been the scene of a murder and, after a ten-month investigation, helped detectives reach the conclusion the occupant took his life.
