A MIDDLESBROUGH minimarket which was controversially given an alcohol licence has applied to have strict restrictions on the sale of cheap cider to be lifted.

Police, councillors and trading standards officers have objected to the application, by Ayresome Park Stores, in Ayresome Street, because it is close to a primary school.
