A GRANDMOTHER in a wheelchair who fiddled [pounds]35,000 in benefits by lying that her husband had left her was given a suspended jail sentence yesterday.

Kathleen Stubbs, 53, from Hartlepool, kept up the fraud for six years, claiming that he was living with his brother.
