HI-TECH surveying equipment worth 80,000 will reduce traffic disruption after serious road accidents, police said yesterday North Yorkshire Police has taken delivery of two systems that will reduce the time taken by officers to investigate fatal and life- threatening crashes.

The force believes it is the first in the UK to have the technology, which officers say will mean roads can be reopened more quickly.
