Football United in Grief for Sir Bobby

THE world of sport united in grief last night following the death of former England and Newcastle manager Sir Bobby Robson. Alan Shearer, Jose Mourinho and Sir Alex Ferguson led the tributes to the miner's son from Langley Park, County Durham, who finally lost his long battle with cancer, aged 76.

Campaign Returns to Preserve Bridleway

LOCAL people, ramblers and horseriders are preparing to renew their battle over a proposal to develop a historic bridleway. Plans to use Patches Lane as access to a development in Coatham Grange, near Coatham Mundeville, Darlington, were met with hostility when they were first unveiled in January.
